SL91

Image
As I’m sure some of you will already know we have posted on for Auction a couple of SL91’s on EBay. I have been sitting on another item that might be of interest to someone out there that again we are going to post up on EBay. The item in question is the First Production EGO10… It has the serial number 60001 (the 6 th Year of the Ego serial number 1). It is, at the moment, in a raw state and the lucky winner can have it marker Anodised in whatever colour they would like (within reason and as long as we can actually do it). We are going to start the bidding at $1. Before anyone asks there isn’t anything special about this EGO10 except that it’s serial number 1. I will enhance the package by putting a Shaft 3 Barrel upgrade kit in with the Marker so you get everything that you would normally get plus a .685 and a .689 Back. For a detailed specification, please visit this link: http://files.planeteclipseb2b.com/ego/EGOTEN-SPEC-EN.pdf To place your bid please visit www.ebay.com item

Weird & Wonderful

Image
Here is something that, well, if I’m honest makes me want to puke. But you would not believe how many of the production staff think this is a little beauty. At the end of each year’s production run we end up with a bunch of odd mismatched parts. This year is no different. We have a bunch (about 15 I believe) of EGO9 markers that have some weird and wonderful colour combinations that we have or will be putting up on line on the Planet Web site for the bargain price of $799 (first come first served on these). But this ‘Frankenstein’ EGO9 we are going to put up on EBay so people can bid on it. Again we will start the bidding at $1, as because it’s Christmas any monies over $500 we will split 50% / 50% with the Charity www. cancer researchuk.org/ (so for example if the final bid is $600 we will donate $50 to Cancer Research UK, if it’s $1000 then we will donate $250). The maraker is just a regular Ego9 marker but with a very different colour scheme. Here's the spec: Eclipse Ego

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!

Image
Well, this is my last Blog Post of the year. I’m off Snowboarding tomorrow for Christmas so I’m not going to be able to post anything else... Sorry... (Eilidh might though). I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year. Paintball is a great sport and I’m very fortunate to be involved in it. It's an industry that I feel proud to be a part of from the Planet Eclipse point of view. 2009 has not been a great year for anyone involved in Paintball but we have a strong core and where there is heart there is also stubborn determination. Let’s all hope that 2010 is set to bring back the good times for everyone. See you all in 2010 !!!!! Here is a little festive Mini ETV for you :-) LEDZ

ETEK3 Mini Site

Image
ETEK3 Mini site is now up and running… Just in time for a Pre Christmas Drool… http://www.planeteclipse.com/etek3/ The ETEK has to be one the fastest selling Eclipse Markers we have ever made; critics are giving this Marker some pretty high praise. Everyone here at Planet HQ is very happy with the finished product. If you want to get your hand on one then you might have to look high and low as demand has outstripped supply at the moment even with production ramping up build. So if you want one I’d get your name down on a waiting list at your local store…. If you can find one in stock somewhere I would bag it while you can!!! Enjoy.

Last SL91.... Auction Number 2.

Image
The second and Last SL91 is now up on E-Bay. The first one sold for a staggering $7000 making it, as well as one of world rarest markers also to our knowledge the most expensive marker ever sold. The very exclusive club of 10 people has only 1 space left… Current Very Exclusive Club List: 1) Flash - Matte Burgundy/Matte Grey - (Serial Number 0009) 2) Jack - White/Black Joe Pineapples Graphic - (Serial Number 0001) 3) Mike (96 Ls Integ) - Matte Brown/Matte Grey "Dark Pooper" - (Serial Number 0004) 4) Steve (MVPSteve) - Dust Blink - (Serial Number 0003) 5) Winter SG - Dust Dark Trooper - (Serial Number 0005) 6) Ryan Lovato - Dust Black/Dust Blue "Hybrid" - (Serial Number 0002) 7) WFPSP - Dust Poison - (Serial Number 0007) 8) SWUG - Custom Graphic Anodized - (Serial Number 0010) 9) Cnoddings0364 - To be Confirmed - To be Confirmed 10) Auction 2 Winner!! …………….Could It Be You??? Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas if it weren’t for drunken fumbles under the mistletoe (Ledz, leave Stoney alone!), gallons of ale and more food than you could shake a Yule log at, which is why Ledz and Jules kindly decided to take us all out for a night on the tiles to celebrate the Season. And, wow....what a night it was! We kicked off the night with a couple of cocktails, then made our way to a fab little rodizio style restaurant, where we ate and ate (....and ate... .. and ate !) Phew. Not one for the veggies, we feasted on every type of ste ak, sausage, chop and chicken and even chickens hearts. Yum. :-S After that we waddled over to the local comedy club where we saw a great line-up, including our favourite female comedienne, Sarah Milican and the brilliant up and coming Russell Kane. Then we hit the bars and danced the night away with the help a few sambucas courtesy of the management  The hardcore party animals among us then went on to the nearby Casino where we finish

3.......2.......1...... BUNGEE !!!!!

Image
So what did you do this Friday afternoon??? Well, some of the staff at Planet Eclipse HQ in Manchester took a little trip down to Salford Quay just around the corning and went Bungee Jumping..In the freezing cold, December weather!!! Pretty much everyone were Bungee Jump virgins, so there were a few worried faces, which is always calmed down with comments like ‘Don’t worry not many people die doing this’ or ‘that rope looks quite old’, you can always rely on your friends to fill you with confidence :-) Little video will hopefully up soon :-) . Tomorrow is Planet’s Christmas Party in Manchester. So, I’m sure I will be able to post a few drunken pictures on Monday… Have a great weekend. LEDZ (I couldn't do it because someone had to film it)

Charity Raffle (Ireland)

Image
The lovely chaps over at paintballer.ie are again having their annual Charity Christmas Raffle in benefit of Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. The prize fund for the raffle is pretty good (if you’re a Paintballer) and if definitely worth the price of a raffle ticket (€5), they except PayPal which is €5.50. As it’s also that time of the season for giving and thinking of people a little less fortunate than ours-elves (LOL it has the word elves in it :-)… So have a deep dig in your pockets, click the link below and sign up for a ticket to win some great prizes and also to do a good thing for that extra Christmas, warm, fluffy feeling.. http://www.paintballer.ie/local-news/8347-paintballer-ie-2009-temple-street-christmas-raffle.html Irelands Planet Eclipse distributors Escarmouche have managed to pry Ledz’s ETEK3 LT out of his hands that he used at the UWL in Birmingham the other week and have kindly donated it to the fund…. Full Prize fund can be found on-line (as it seems t

Thailand is BACK ???

Image
10+ years ago there used to be a little tournament that happened every year in Thailand. Now for an event in the Far East it certainly had its fare share of European and American Pro players in attendance. Having never attended myself I’m not really sure why. Could it be the great weather? The friendly hospitality? The extremely inexpensive cost of living? Cheap booze and food? A great Paintball tournament? Or could it be something else ;-) Well, all I know that every year the ‘Guys’ got themselves ready for a great event in Thailand. The event ran its course and faded away along with the rumours and stories…. But hold on, it looks like it could be coming back. The event is open to all Div 1 teams (No CPL, SPL, Pro or Semi Pro Teams). The organisers are super keen for teams to make the trip over and have been working on keeping the costs of the event to a minimum for international teams and have some amazing deals on hotels, transport etc. If this is something you fancy playing then dr

ICE ICE BABY

Image
We recently received an email from Kelli Landry, the wife of Bill, owner of Paintball Supply Shack in Rhode Island, requesting our support for their son Kyle’s Ice Hockey team, 'NRI Vikings Squirt B'. For anybody who doesn’t know Bill, he is one of our most loyal, fully qualified technical aides, so the least we can do for him is try to drum up some extra support for Kyle. :) Kyle's team, who recently took first place at the Woonsocket Halloween Classic are competing for a place in the Winter Classic on New Years Day at Fenway Park. They desperately need votes to earn a place in the event so click the following link to show your support!!! http://bruins.notchturner.com/contests/voting.aspx?team=106

Diamond Wars III (2010 Dates)

Image
The results are in from this seasons Diamond Wars and there are a few pretty unhappy campers… The HMC in fact won more events in total that the USDE but the absolute a$$ kicking the HMC took during the Festival weekend in July proved to be the cushion the USDE needed and even with the effort of the HMC in the final leg the gap still proved too big to close…. If you’re a rec baller, scenario player or tournament player I can’t recommend the Diamond Wars enough… If you want to play some of the best paintball you will ever get to play in arena’s second to none then you should check out the Diamond Wars (DW) next year. Here is next year’s flyer with all the dates…. Major General Ledz will be there in 2010 with his Mercs….. Which side will they join forces with?? Only time will tell.

Christmas is COMING !!!!!

Image
I think the Christmas feeling is very much upon us, the weather is certainly getting colder in the UK. I even saw Jack sporting a string vest earlier this week! I have just bought my Christmas tree (decorating it tonight) and the snow is falling on the Alps (bring on the fresh stuff). But just to make sure we really know that Christmas is just around the corner Mathias from Three4One from Switzerland sent us this, which did make us laugh…. I’m loving my ‘Worm’ move !!! Fire It Up EXTREME

Image
As it now seems to be getting cold we need something to warm you up.. So I’m proud to introduce the Eclipse Fire It Up EXTREME Hot Sauce. I have been sticking the labels on personally and now they are ready to ship… The standard Fire It Up Hot Sauce is nice; I mean you can put it on pretty much anything. It has a great taste, but I have been called a girl in terms of Heat.... A Girl........... So we are now introducing Fire It Up Extreme. We are giving this one 9 out of 10 on the heat scale. (We keep 10 out of 10 for things like Pure Cap). We didn't want to make a sauce that was 'Just' Hot we wanted to make a sauce that also had a great flavour as well. Fire It Up Extreme has just that. Kick Ass Taste and Kick Your Ass Heat. We have ONLY made 200 bottles of this one so it's a pretty limited production. We can make more but it's going to be in VERY short demand... If you fancy taking a walk on the hotter side of Hot Sauces then give this bad boy a try. Get it while i

SL91....... 1 of 10 !!!!

Image
The SL91. The GEO that Never Was! This marker was designed and prototyped in early 2009, but never went into production. The plug was pulled on the project for a number of reasons, the main one of which was the simple problem of their only being 24 hours in each day (Don’t worry we are working on hour 25). To date there has only ever been one SL91 that has ever been anodised and assembled which has seen the light of day, and that has been in the hands of our very own Steve “Flash” Monks. Well, until now that is. In total ten SL91 prototypes were manufactured but have been under lock and key in the R&D Lab. Jack decided he wanted to have his own gun (believe it or not he has not had a gun to call his own since 2003!) so dusted down the box of parts and set about making his very own SL91. That leaves us with 8. So with a number of these going to a short list of very persistent techs, dealers and long-serving friends and allies of Eclipse that have hounded us over the last few months

Hey again, I wanted to tell you a bit about my trip to the English Millennium, The Campaign Cup. I was supposed to go there anyway to meet my friends, but of course I always want to play. So I talked to some of my teammates on Slagen Bandits suggesting they got their first taste of international paintball. Nothing is more awesome than to meet old friends and play paintball the same weekendJ There were no possibility that my whole team could make it to the Millennium on such short notice, so we figured, why not just bring the ones who want and can afford it, and just go have ourselves some funJ And that’s exactly what we did. It ended with: 3 from the Bandits, a couple of our junior players (novice) and a good friend of mine, Jan. It was only two of them who had seen a Millennium event before, and just a couple more of them who had ever been out of Scandinavia, so to bring them with me was a really great experience. We came down on Wednesday and I brought the guys to the field Thursday.

Bonfire Night.

Image
Bit random for a Friday but just a couple of pictures of Bonfire night last week when a few of the Planet Staff went to a local Bonfire night to see the fireworks and the 17 year old, white trainered scallys walking through ankle deep mud pushing the double buggies through waves of people,... Oh we laughed... (Tom, Michelle, Stoney , Sam, Eilidh and Ledz )

I’ve been having a few back issue recently and with the UWL looming next weekend I wanted to be fighting fit (for the night before drinking session) so thought I’d try a few alternative medicines… Not sure if it worked or not but I do feel a lot better than I did before I started the self abuse treatment. When you’re in pain you will do anything to get rid of it.. Thank god that we can’t remember pain… That would be horrible. If anyone really cares this is Cupping and Acupuncture. LEDZ

Last week Kate from Design arranged a Pink Day at Planet to raise some money for Breast Cancer Research. Some of the staff (more than others) got a quite involved and went full Pink for the day. Some money was raised for a great cause which was brilliant. Nice One Kate. Let’s see if we can raise some more money. Probably a little late now but any money raised is a good thing right??? OK anyone that orders either a SL94 Pink Lady EGO or a Pink Lady GEO and writes the following words in ‘additional information’ when making their order…. ‘Please Donate $50 to Breast Cancer Research’ Well, Planet will give $50 to Breast Cancer Research on your behalf. Making you a nice person, Planet nice people and hopefully the world a very slightly better place :-) http://www.planeteclipse.com/site/estore.asp?sS=pink+lady&sB=AND&show=search

UWL - UK (15th November 2009)

Image
The Ultimate Woodsball league is coming to Europe... Birmingham, England in fact. WDP / NPF are hosting the European leg of the UWL, they will also be, for the first ever time rolling out the 2010 format where instead of 10 + 1 players on the field there will be 7 + 1 players. If anyone knows the NPF guys and the fields down there I'm expecting this to be EPIC. The venue is fantastic, staff are first rate and the facilities second to none. This isn't going to be a normal woodlands tournament this is a blend of tournament ball and Scenario ball all rolled into a format that suits everyone... I for one can't wait. I have rung a few dusty old players that have mainly been in retirement now for several years, pretty much since the Banzai's split up. Well, the possibility of a few beers with old mates, war stories and even a spot of Paintball have brought a few of the Banzai's and Rushers together and will be playing under the Banner Operation Sandbag. The squad will b
