Planet Eclipse Retail Store Closing.....

The Old Planet Eclipse Store on Deansgate about 15 years ago!

In the near future Planet Eclipse will be moving its Head Office in the UK just down the road to a brand new purpose built facility in Manchester, England.

Once the move is complete we will be in a much better position to be able to drive Planet Eclipse forward in all departments. Over the last few years the emphasis has shifted away from the retail store to a manufacturing, research and development lab, service centre and distribution hub for the Planet Eclipse range. We have also over this period established connections with several UK based retail stores that now stock the Planet Eclipse range of products. So we now feel that the time is right for us to close the doors on the store and let the other retailers around the UK do what they do best and service the face to face customers on a daily basis. We have not taken this step lightly at all and we have the upmost confidence that the stores in our UK network are much better placed to give the walk-in retail customers an overall better level of service.

The Planet Eclipse web site store will remain OPEN. Internet and telephone mail orders can still be placed and will be fulfilled as efficiently as normal.

To all of our loyal customer over the 19 years the Planet Eclipse store has been open, thanks for all your support, war stories, memories, do-nuts and for helping us to get where we are now. It’s a sad day for us but this move means we can concentrate more on what we now do best (making kick-ass paintball products) and letting the UK retail stores do what they do best.

So with a heavy heart I’m very sad to say that the last day that the Planet Eclipse store will be open will be Saturday the 30th October. The good news is that on the 30th of October there will be a mega ‘get this stock out of my shop’ Sale. We have a bunch of gear that just has to get out of here and NOT taken to the new place… So stick the date in your diary and come on over and say goodbye and pick up a bargain or two…. Whenever we hear reports of any issues with our products – no matter how small – we like to jump on it as soon as possible, try our best to understand the root of the problem and then provide a definitive solution. Over the last couple of weeks we have received reports of some inconsistent air leaks from the frame and POPS area of the CS3. Every marker that we produce is thoroughly tested prior to packaging and shipping, but unfortunately these leaks have developed after shipping, and normally at temperatures below those that the markers experience in testing. This is generally down to contraction – or shrinkage – of seals that occurs as the temperature drops. The leak can be heard from around the grips or, with the grips removed, from the Regulator Hole A in the side of the frame. It can also be heard from the join between the bottom of the frame and the POPS. We have traced these leaks to what appears to be a bath of bottom tolerance 016 NBR70 o-rings used on the brass HPR Body (see

We think it is and we are super excited about it. Penang Island Malaysia, Pearl of the Orient also known as the Prince of Wales Island founded by the British East India Company in 1786 by Sir Francis Light and made a British Crown Colony in 1867. An Free port Island made in spices and entrepot trading and resupplying ships to and from the Indian Ocean. Modern Penang is also a renowned tourist destination both for local and international visitors for its food, heritage, hotels, beaches, cruise terminal and family activities. This island rich with culture and ethnic diversity was also the venue of our Northern Paintball Super league – on May 12th and 13th. With the fullest support from the City Council of Penang – Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang – MBPP, and hosted on Georgetown city centre’s beautiful Polo Grounds saw the largest paintball tournament, Penang International Cup in Malaysia of the past few years with 89 teams. It's officially the week of the world's biggest tournament paintball event on the Planet, the PSP World Cup in Orlando-Florida and we cannot wait! With so much up for grabs this year for our teams we're super excited to see how they all perform. For some, it's about finishing what they started in 2014, for others it's about putting the team in the best possible position for 2015's first event. To help our teams build some momentum this week, beyond providing them with equipment that looks great and performs flawlessly, we thought we'd have some fun with them on social media and generate some online rivalry between them, as well as getting some fan support along the way.
